chuva e um gelado

GELADO DE BAUNILHA E CARAMELO / CARAMEL AND VANILLA ICECREAM

Gelado de baunilha / Vanilla icecream:
30cl de leite / 30 cl milk
30cl natas / 30cl cream
100gr de açúcar / 100gr sugar
4 gemas de ovo / 4 egg yolks
1 vagem de baunilha / 1 vanilla pod

Caramelo / Caramel:
1/2 chávena de água / 1/2 cup water
2 chávenas de açúcar / 2 cups sugar
100gr de manteiga / 100gr butter
2/3 chávena de natas / 2/3 cup cream

300gr de chocolate de leite / 300gr milk chocolate
nozes pecan / pecan nuts

Polvilhar as nozes, grosseiramente picadas.

For the ice cream, boil the cream with milk and vanilla bean. Whisk the egg yolks with the sugar. Pour the liquid into the egg yolks and bring the mixture to boil, stirring constantly until thickened slightly. Place the cream in a bowl and put the bowl in a  largest one with ice to cool down. Once cold, put into molds and freeze ice cream.
For the caramel, bring water and sugar to boil until it reaches an amber color. Add the cream, butter and vanilla pod inside carefully. Stir until the mixture is creamy.
Place a layer of caramel over the vanilla ice cream and freeze.
Melt the chocolate in a double boiler and dip the icecream. Sprinkle the pecans coarsely chopped.
